HISTORY OF FUTURA
THE CULMINATION OF OVER 50 YEARS OF LEADING TRAILER INVENTION.
The Futura lowering trailer is the ultimate evolution of over 50 years of heritage in trailer manufacturing.
The Reid family business started building trailers in 1956 from the family home, before growing to be one of New Zealand’s largest and most respected trailer brands, known for their tailored solutions that stood the test of time. With that lineage, as well as a passion for motorsport Reid Brother’s Glen and Jake have reengineered the modern car trailer into one of the world’s most inventive, easy to use and dependable lowering trailer in the world.
Futura lowering trailers were engineered in the same way you would engineer a race vehicle; using in-depth knowledge of structural design and cutting-edge materials. The result is an extremely strong yet lightweight design, with striking aesthetics, capable of lowering to the ground with the touch of a button.
With industry leadership in areas as diverse as boat design to movie effects, New Zealand remains a hotbed for the world’s most innovative manufacturers and creatives. Futura Trailers are designed and built in Auckland and assembled in key offshore markets, such as USA and Australia. In the US, Futura trailers are assembled at facilities in California and also in South Carolina.
